STEVE ROYLE

Steve Royale

Described by Peter Kay as a brilliant comedian, by David Walliams as one of the funniest performers I’ve seen, by Simon Cowell as naturally funny and by his mum as ‘someone who should get a proper job’ Steve Royle is without doubt one of the funniest performers in the UK right now.

Steve finished as runner-up in the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2020 and quickly embarked on a sell-out UK theatre tour.

Steve is no stranger to the world of entertainment having travelled the world with his unique show as well as performing for 12 years as Mad Edgar the court jester at Camelot Theme Park.

PAUL TONKINSON

This year marks Paul Tonkinson’s 30th year in stand up comedy, having won the Time Out “New Act Of The Year Award” in 1992.

The same magazine would later name Paul “Stand Up Comic Of The Year.”

As well as comedy you may remember Paul as host of Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast in the late 90s as well as his radio work on XMF in both London and Manchester.

An incredible comedian who we are chuffed to welcome to Wentworth Festival this year!

MICK FERRY

One of the most popular comedy performers on the UK circuit, Mick Ferry is a supremely talented and versatile performer.

Mick made it to the final of So You Think You’re Funny on Channel 4 back in 1998 and since then his comedy career has gone from strength to strength.

Having supported comedy legends Johnny Vegas, Sean Lock, Peter Kay, Al Murray and Steve Coogan it’s not difficult to see why Mick Ferry is one of the country’s finest comedians and it’s a pleasure to welcome Mick to Wentworth this in 2022.

JAMIE SUTHERLAND

Liverpool has a great track record for producing great comedy talent and Jamie Sutherland is a fine example of just that.

A headline act on the UK comedy circuit for the country’s most successful comedy clubs Jamie is also the resident hospitality MC at Everton FC for all their home games at Goodison Park.

Jamie’s show has taken him across Europe and even as far as Australia, but we know exactly where he’ll be on Saturday 17th September and that’s making us laugh until we ache at Wentworth Festival!

KAREN BAYLEY

Karen Bayley started her comedy career back in 2000 and since then has gone from strength to strength.

Her no-nonsense attitude strikes a perfect pitch with men and women alike.

In 2004 Karen made her debut at the Edinburgh Festival and gained glowing reviews, a show which then lead to numerous TV and radio appearances.

This will be Karen’s first appearance at Wentworth Festival and we cannot wait!

SULLY O’SULLIVAN

New Zealand born Sully first started performing stand-up in June 1998 and won a new talent award in his homeland less than a year later.

He’s since performed on TV as well as prestigious comedy clubs in Canada, the UAE, USA, UK and mainland Europe.

A regular at The Last Laugh Comedy Club, Sully O’Sullivan will is a fantastic addition to the Comedy Stage at this year’s Wentworth Festival.

NINA GILLIGAN

One of the most popular comics on the UK comedy circuit right now, Nina Gilligan has been a great friend of Wentworth Festival since we started back in 2017.

Having started performing in 2012 Nina has risen to become a real star in the comedy world, winning the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year just last year in 2021.

Nina’s show at Wentworth Festival is certainly not to be missed!

DAISY EARL

Daisy is one of the fastest rising stars in comedy and is attracting plaudits and accolades at an alarming rate!

Having won Best New Comedian at the Scottish Variety Awards she was then crowned Scottish Comedian Of The Year, making her the first ever female winner.

Having already wowed the crowds at our Last Laugh Comedy Club in Sheffield Daisy will be making her debut at Wentworth Festival this year and we can’t wait.
